Word Play
Mapping Meaning, Movement, and Memory
Language is a shared dictionary with personalized definitions shaped by culture, memory, sensation, and association. Through exploring how language lives in the body, we begin to notice where thought, emotion, and movement intersect.
These one-on-one sessions use playful, word exercises to bring awareness to your communication patterns, initial responses, and thought trains. Through voice, gesture, and imagination, we loosen longstanding definitions and uncover new ways of relating… to words, to others, and to yourself!
Each session unfolds uniquely. The experimental nature of this work means outcomes are unpredictable, often leading to breakthrough moments of surprise and clarity. In sessions, expect to redefine words, repeat phrases, role-play emotional tones, or follow sensations across the body map. We provide blank body charts and journaling prompts to practice the games on your own between sessions.
I’m not a therapist or coach. I’m a mirror, fellow explorer, and guide, here to ask thoughtful questions, help re-frame perceptions, and encourage curiosity and play. What comes up in our sessions is met with discretion and respect, often making great material to bring to a professional counselor.
Curiosity is the only requirement.
If you’ve felt stuck in your healing journey and are looking for a fresh approach, if you love to play and experiment somatically, or if you’re simply open to trying something unusual and new, these sessions were made for you.
